Lands within Driftpile IR# 150 surrendered for lease by the Crown in 1919 were transferred to Alberta in 1931 and 1971granting a fee simple interest. FN claims Canada acted without statutory authority under the Indian Act, and breach of its fiduciary duties, and that the surrendered lands remain under the administration and control of the Crown in Right of Canada for the use and benefit of the FN. The FN seeks a negotiated settlement of restitution and compensation for breach of the Crown's fiduciary duty.
